CASA DE GOBIERNO
Imposing building in the French and Italian Baroque style, with touches of Art Nouveau, built by architect Domingo Selva
Unfortunately, the colonial-style cabildo has not been preserved. At the beginning of the 20th century, the poorer northwest of the country lacked imposing and modern buildings. Governor Luis Nougues, in the midst of the urban renewal of Tucumán that was taking place at that time, decided to demolish the cabildo to build a palace in the architectural style of the time. Thus, in 1912, this imposing building was inaugurated by the architect Domingo Selva in a French and Italian baroque style with some touches of Art Nouveau.
