A pretty, simple and well-maintained cathedral in the main square, with a sober, bright interior and 5 successive naves
The pretty, simple, well-kept ochre cathedral that graces the main square (east of the square, on Mitre) was built in 1885 by Catalan architect Pedro Coll and is dedicated to Nuestra Señora del Rosario. Its interior is sober and luminous, making it a pleasant place for quiet contemplation. It was rebuilt in 1969 to replace the old cathedral, which was falling into ruin. It is remarkable for its five successive naves, of which only three remain in the whole of Latin America.
