Small church rebuilt in Cachi, evoking an image of the Far West and offering an opportunity to celebrate all the sacraments
This small church was once a private place of worship, belonging to the family of don Felipe Aramburo. His descendants donated their land and the church to the village. Founded in the late 17th century, it has since been rebuilt to evoke an image of the Wild West. The roof is made of cactus wood and the construction is adobe. As is the case throughout the region, a priest comes here once a year for the patron saint's feast of San José. This is an opportunity to celebrate all the sacraments at the same time, and to watch the cacti burn in a bonfire.
