MUSEO ARQUEOLOGICO PIO PABLO DIAZ
A small museum with a large room divided into several sections, housing an almost intact mummy, the Dama de Cachi
A nice surprise this little museum! A large room, divided into several sections, tells the story of the settlement of the Calchachaqui valleys and the daily life of their inhabitants, the Calchaquis Indians, before the time of the Spanish invasions. The explanations are very pedagogical, especially on the methods used in archaeology, including the C14 method of dating an element. Finally, don't miss the museum's star attraction: the Dama de Cachi, an almost intact mummy.
