QUEBRADA DE LAS FLECHAS
A site of rocky outcrops rising towards the sky, with a mineral landscape of varied and fascinating colors
The Quebrada de las Flechas runs along the Río Calchaquí from Cafayate, some 60 km north on Ruta Nacional 40, to the village of Angastaco. It consists of rocks that rise straight up to the sky (hence the association with arrows), sculpted and sharpened by wind erosion. A fascinating mineral landscape of varied colors, especially in the late afternoon when the sun becomes razor-sharp. The easiest way to enjoy the spectacle, and stop whenever you like, is to come by car, or by remis.
