HISTORICAL RECORD
The oldest building in Salta, with its colonial architecture and patios, houses the Museo Histórico del Norte (Historical Museum of the North)
As is often the case, the Cabildo is the oldest building in the city. The one in Salta dates from 1582 and is a typical example of colonial architecture with arcades and rich patios. It houses the Historical Museum of the North. It was a public building, then a private one, destroyed and rebuilt. The last restoration dates from 1945 and was carried out by Mario Buschiazzo, who also restored the Cabildo de Buenos Aires and the Casa de la Independencia. Changing of the Guard Ceremony on Wednesdays at 6pm and Saturdays at 11am.
