CATEDRAL
Spanish colonial-style cathedral, with a famous flag created by Belgrano, preserving a magnificent nandubay wood pulpit
The 17th century cathedral, which has undergone many modifications, has preserved a magnificent pulpit made of Nandubay wood. A fine example of the Spanish colonial style. No precise date, but the building was consecrated and opened between 1761 and 1765. It is in this cathedral that the famous flag created by Belgrano was blessed on May 25, 1812. The population and troops then gathered in front of the Cabildo to swear loyalty to this flag. You will find inside the cathedral a painting representing this event.
