CASA DE GOBIERNO
French Baroque palace in San Salvador de Jujuy, surrounded by 4 sculptures by Lola Mora for the Congreso national
French Baroque style building. Go to the first floor in the flag room, which is the first in the country, created by General Belgrano. He donated it to the city as a tribute to his active participation in the victory of Salta in the 19th century. The palace is surrounded by four sculptures by Lola Mora: Justice (armed with a sword), Freedom (armed with a flag), Progress and Peace (unarmed). The works were intended for the National Congress (Buenos Aires) but were considered too daring. Forgotten, the idea was later to bequeath them to Jujuy.
