CANDELARIA IGLESIA
Church with 2 towers featuring a rococo-style wooden altarpiece and a beautiful altarpiece with geometric and plant motifs
The church was founded shortly after the village. Its construction began in 1631 and was completed in 1634, but the building has undergone several modifications since then, the most important in 1743 when more than half of the building was restored. In 1881 the two towers that now frame the church were added. Inside there is a cactus wood carving of the Virgin Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria. The altar is both masonry and wood, in rococo style, and behind it you can see a beautiful altarpiece with geometric and vegetal motifs.
