Gigantic monument overlooking the mountains, paying tribute to the heroes who fought for Argentina's independence
Massive, imposing, we can only see it from the square. Steps lead to the foot of the monument. We enjoy the view on the mountains. This gigantic monument was inaugurated in 1950 and pays tribute to those who fought for the independence of Argentina. In the foreground you will see a 9 meter high indigenous figure that represents all the Argentine people. If you go around the monument, climbing another set of stairs, you will come across the cemetery, beautifully colored.
