MUSEO ARQUEOLÓGICO
Museum with 4 rooms, offering a visit to see pottery, fossils, 3 well-preserved mummies and everyday tools
In four rooms, we discover vestiges of the Humahuaca people who lived in the region before the Inca invasion. Pottery, fossils, tools of the daily life are exposed in the old house of the doctor Torres Aparicio. Three well-preserved mummies found in the area are also on display: those of Rosalía, a woman found in a cave, in a fetal position, as well as a second mummy, and that of a child. A really interesting collection that is worth a visit to understand the funeral rites of this Andean people.
