MARTIAL GLACIAR

A glacier with a panoramic view over the bay, offering a pretty, invigorating stroll in a pleasant atmosphere.
This panoramic (though relatively steep) viewpoint over the bay, the multicoloured roofs of Ushuaia and the Beagle Channel is accessed via a 7 km winding road. Discovered by the French explorer Louis Ferdinand Martial in 1833, the glacier is not of great interest, but the walk is pretty and invigorating. If you can get there in autumn, the show is all the more magical and colourful: the trees display their golden colour and the snow plays hide and seek with the rocks. An atmosphere at the end of the world as pleasant as it is singular.
