TERMINAL DE EL CALAFATE
The new bus terminal of El Calafate, inaugurated in February 2017, is located Rue Saint-Exupéry in No. 87. The former terminal located in Avenida Julio A. Roca is definitively closed, all company offices migrated in this new facility to several quadras of the center. According to the municipality, transit transit is faster and more efficient than in the past (the old terminal was in the center). You will find a tourist office in the bus terminal. To leave the glacier region, you will need to pass through Río Gallegos, direction Ushuaia or Puerto Madryn. Unless you start on Route 40 north (in summer only) for El Chalten, Perito Moreno, El Bolson and Bariloche or to win Chile (Puerto Natales and Punta Arenas).
Parque Nacional de los Glaciares and the Perito Moreno Glacier (1:30 a. m. for $ 600 return trip), with Taqsa for example, departure daily at 8:30 a. m. and 2 p. m., return to 3:30 p. m., Cal-Tur departure daily at 9 a. m. and 1 p. m., return to 16 h and 7:30 p. m. (more buses in high season) or Patagonia Ya departure every day at 10 a. m., return to 3:15 p. m.
El Chaltén (3:00 a. m., $ 390), 3 companies travel daily at 8 a. m., 1 p. m., 4:30 p. m. and 6:00 p. m.: Cal-Tur, Chaltén Travel and Taqsa. Fewer departures between May and September. Count between $ 480 and $ 600 (Taqsa is the cheapest).
Perito Moreno (14 hours of travel, counting between $ 1,120 and $ 1,500), El Bolson (24 h, between $ 2,000 and $ 2,400), with Marga, departure at 7 p. m. Bariloche (about 26 h, $ 2,500 cama) with Marga (departure every day at 7 p. m.)
Rio Gallegos (4 h, $ 640) take Taqsa Andesmar or Marga, departures at 3 a. m., 11:30 a. m. or 3:30 p. m. for Ushuaia ($ 1,300, Andesmar and Taqsa), or Pierto Madryn (4:00 p. m. 20:00 p. m.) 00).
Puerto Natales (5:00 a. m., $ 700). Bus On visit every day at 4:35 p. m. and 4:30 p. m.
For Torres del Paine: Passing through Puerto Natales or a very interesting alternative: Known Glaciers (see Practice) offers a day-to-day minibus excursion that goes directly to Torres del Paine by directly crossing the border through the Cordillera (without passing through Puerto Natales): possibility of being deposited to stay several days in the park and pick up the shuttle the day desired (excursion + single trip: $ 700, excursion + trip/return: $ 1,000 per person). A solution that finally comes as expensive as simply taking the El Calafate buses - Puerto Natales - Torres del Paine ($ 400) because we have to spend one night in Puerto Natales go and return because of the hours.
Towards Punta Arenas (9 h, correspondence via Rio Gallegos), with El Pingüino.
