Magnificent lake with a few icebergs, the largest and southernmost lake in Patagonia, ideal for superb hiking
This magnificent lake, the largest and southernmost in Patagonia (1,460 km²), draws its milky and turquoise waters from the melting of the southern glaciers of the Parque nacional los Glaciares, the Perito Moreno and Upsala glaciers in particular. It then flows through the Santa Cruz River which gave its name to the province. To admire it, you can walk along its shores near the city or explore more distant paths to enjoy the scenery and see some icebergs drifting. Another option: a superb horseback ride, hair in the wind!
