CATEDRAL NUESTRA SEÑORA DEL NAHUEL HUAPI
Bariloche's neo-Gothic cathedral, with outstanding stained-glass windows evoking a distant past
The neo-gothic cathedral of Bariloche was built by the architect Alejandro Bustillo in 1946. Made of white stone, it is the main Catholic building in the city. The stained glass windows by the Frenchman Henri Thomas are particularly remarkable and evoke a distant past: they represent themes and characters from local history. The faces of the missionaries Mascardi and Melanesio and those of the builders Alejandro Bustillo and Miguel Angel Césari can be seen.
