Founded in 1905 by students from the Lycée Blaise Pascal who wanted to play rugby, the Stade Clermontois is the oldest sports club in the city. Since then, it has united all sporting disciplines under a single banner. The club values both amateur and professional athletes. Today, it brings together more than 20 disciplines (sections or independent associations): archery, athletics, basketball, boxing, fencing, gymnastics, weightlifting, handball, judo, karate, wrestling, swimming, pétanque, rugby, tennis, table tennis and volleyball.
