HÔTEL SAVARON
Private mansion built in 1513, featuring a tympanum depicting three wild men in Clermont-Ferrand.
This private mansion built in 1513 for Hugues Savaron, king's advisor, second consul of Clermont, is composed of two main buildings, one overlooking the street and the other the courtyard. Superimposed galleries connect them. We also note the presence of a spiral staircase that serves the different floors. If the facade facing the street is not the most interesting, the one facing the courtyard has many surprises in store, as it is richly decorated. Not to be missed is the tympanum representing three wild men framing the arms of the Savaron family. Its flamboyant gothic style knows how to charm us. The mansion is classified as a historical monument since 1927.
