RABANESSE CASTLE
In the middle of the Kessler-Rabanesse district, a strange building, looking like an abandoned ruin, stands. This house, topped by a tower, dates back to the 15th century. It was then modified for its different uses. Listed as a historical monument since 2009, it is topped by a square watchtower with narrow openings, which houses a spiral staircase and leads to a small platform. It was used as a meteorological relay between the years 1870 and 1910. This station belonged to the University of Clermont. The house also housed a laboratory and a telegraph relay. Some claim that Blaise Pascal would have observed the stars there..
