A stroll through Clermont-Ferrand, to discover the Place de la Rodade, the Musée d'Art Roger-Quilliot, the Volvic galleries...
Montferrand was from the 12th to the 17th century a bastide close to Clermont. In 1630, the Edict of Troyes united the two cities, a union confirmed in 1731. The medieval and Renaissance town prospered under the shelter of impressive 1,772 m long ramparts. To discover the courtyards of the private mansions, with their spiral staircases and superimposed galleries made of Volvic stone, you must push open a few doors! Venture out for a nice walk, between the Place de la Rodade and the Roger-Quilliot Art Museum, passing by the Notre-Dame de Prospérité church or the Place Marcel-Sembat.
