FROM RUE DES GRAS TO THE SAINT-PIERRE MARKET TO DELILLE
Go there and contact
The Rue des Gras is one of the most pleasant and emblematic of the city, framed by the imposing black façade of the cathedral, on the other side by the silhouette of the Puy de Dôme. The Place des Gras at the top of the street displays a knives from a former religious building. By descending the street, you will pass to the Fontfreyde Hotel, a place dedicated to photographic exhibitions. A narrow passage leading to Saint Peter's Square lets you see the hotel's inner courtyard and a screw staircase. The halles of Saint Peter's Square feel the land and quality products sold by more than thirty exhibitors. Meet here on Saturday morning, when this neighborhood crawls around people. Saint Peter's Square leads on one side to Gaillard Square and the Avenue of the United States, and on the other to the Alley of Boucherie. It goes back to the place du Mazet, an appointment point for the nocturnal. Continue by Saint-Hérem Street, unable to miss Pascal's statue in the square in its name. Above, the fountain of Amboise has been the place of Poterne for five centuries. Then turn on the right, rue Philippe Marcombes, dominated by the city hall, formerly the court of high court and the elegant inner courtyard. Come back slightly on your steps to reach the top of the rue du Port, punctuated by former private hotels (hotel de la Ribeyre, Montrosier de la Vilatelle) and leading to the Notre-Dame-du-Port basilica. You finally get to Delille. Little unusual note: the façade of his pharmacy, now closed, adorned with Egyptian mosaics in the taste of the 1920 s and signed by architect Louis Jarrier.
