Historic and sumptuous hotel with swimming pool, spa, restaurants and bars located on the edge of Chao Phraya in Bangkok.
Located on the edge of Chao Phraya, this world-renowned hotel has been part of the history of Bangkok since 1887. Very privileged location, with private lift, gardens and swimming pool on the river. The establishment has undergone numerous renovations, notably led by the Sarki brothers, who also created the splendid Raffles of Singapore. The framework is sumptuous, the service deemed one of the best in the world; even the sometimes outdated little side of the whole contributes to the incredible charm of the place. The hotel has 393 rooms including 35 suites in the historical wing and a more recent wing. In front of Thonburi, there are the complementary infrastructures: sports facilities, Spa, cooking school and Sala Rim Naam restaurant (a «must»). There are also nine other restaurants, restaurants and bars, including the famous French restaurant, Le Normandie. Also note the Bamboo bar where you can enjoy a drink by listening to high quality live jazz. It is also very chic and very pleasant to come and enjoy a drink on the terrace of the Oriental at sunset, as well as to take tea in a very colonial setting at the Author's Lounge (proper attire).
