WAT INTHARAWIHAN
A small temple dating back to the Ayutthaya kingdom, distinguished by its giant Buddha, named Luang Pho To or Phra Si Ariyamettrai.
Away from the most visited temples in the historic centre, just north of Khao San Road, this small temple dates back to the beginning of the Ayutthaya kingdom. It is worth a visit especially for its giant Buddha, called Luang Pho To or Phra Si Ariyamettrai, nearly 32 meters high, entirely covered with sparkling mosaics and gilding. It took nearly 50 years to complete this assembly, and the result is quite impressive. A small sanctuary is dedicated to Guanyin, the goddess of compassion of Mahayana Buddhism. The place is pleasant to visit.
