GIANT SWING
This red-painted teak portico in front of the Devasathan temple was used for harvest ceremonies.
This teak portico painted in red, called a large swing, was built in 1784 in front of Devasathan Temple. It was used in the past for ceremonies organized for harvests. The swing was renovated in 1920 and moved to its current location. Monks swung up to 25 m high to try to catch a bag of money with their teeth attached to a pillar in front of them, 23 m high. Given the number of fatal accidents, this game was banned in 1935.
