LOUD PHRA SUMEN
This fort, built during the reign of Rama , is a historic center distinguished by its imposing octagonal stature.
Built during the reign of Rama I, this fort is one of the last examples of the fortifications that had been built in Bangkok, along with Fort Mahakan and Fort Wichaiprasit, which totalled 14. Nearly 5,000 people were involved in its construction. Fully renovated, the fort's massive octagonal stature stands on the bank of the Chao Phraya River. It is not possible to visit the fort, but you can walk around it in the park. Close to Khao San Road, it's a good idea for a day out before a day of sightseeing.
