TALAT KAO (OLD MARKET)
An ancient market in the heart of Chinatown that transforms into a street food market in the evening.
This ancient market, over 150 years old, is more of a curiosity to visit than an address for shopping. Right in the heart of Chinatown, you'll find as you wander the tightly packed aisles of Talat Kao, as it's also known, that it's hard to tell what's being sold on the stalls. Chinese delicatessen and other oddities stand shoulder to shoulder, much to the fascination of tourists unfamiliar with Chinese cuisine. In the evening, Yaowarat Street and the surrounding alleyways transform into an unmissable street food market.
