Opened in 1974, the National Gallery exhibits works by Thai and foreign artists through permanent and temporary exhibitions. The first floor is devoted to ancient periods, with works dating back to the Ayutthaya era. The first floor is dedicated to contemporary art. A good way to discover the specificities of Thai art through the centuries and compare different styles. There are even works by kings Rama VI and Rama IX. Don't expect to see what you can admire in London or New York....
