ROYAL BARGE MUSEUM
A museum in Bangkok, housing a collection of royal barges, puts on a colorful show with crews.
This collection of royal barges, some over 50 meters long, is located on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya, near Pinklao Bridge. It's especially impressive to see these barges during the rare ceremonial processions. It's a very colorful spectacle, with crews of up to 64 people, complete with parasols, musicians and more. All the barges have been renovated and redecorated. The most recent barge was commissioned in 1996 by the late King Rama IX for his Golden Jubilee.

Les photographies sont payantes mais le spectacle de ces barges royales vaut la modique somme dépensée.
