SUAN PAKKAD PALACE
A palace made up of five residences displaying Buddha statues, swords, ceramics, a collection of vases...
The palace consists of five teak houses. In the houses are exhibited antiques: statues of Buddha from the Dvaravati and Angkor periods, swords, ceramics as well as the largest collection of vases from Bang Chiang, a prehistoric site in northeastern Thailand. The Lacquer Pavilion dates back to the Ayutthaya era. There are black lacquer panels decorated with gold leaf drawings depicting Buddha's life and also life in Ayutthaya with the arrival of the French, depicted with great humour.
