WAT YAI CHAI MONGKHON
Temple founded in 1357, a complex with a chedi, Buddha statues and a reclining Buddha, ideal for attending offerings.
Located just outside the old city, this temple, founded in 1357, is also well worth a visit. It's a large complex housing a phenomenally large chedi, which you can climb into and try your luck at by dropping a coin into a receptacle below. It is surrounded by numerous Buddha statues. The enclosure is also home to an attractive reclining Buddha. Frequented mainly by locals, this is also an opportunity to witness offerings. A pond attracts visitors who come to feed the many turtles.
