Ban Mai is a Phitsanulok institution. Set in a small alleyway, this restaurant in the heart of an old building offers a classic setting that's a little old-fashioned, but nevertheless pleasant. The menu features traditional recipes, with a wide choice of dishes. Unfortunately, the quality of the cuisine has declined somewhat over the years, and prices have risen. The dishes are quite good, but the value for money is not obvious. Service is attentive, but be sure to ask for prices before ordering, as waitresses don't always announce them.
