THAM LOD
Set of caves between Pai and Mae Hong Son, an archaeological site with columns, stalactites, stalagmites and bats.
Tham Lod, or Nam Lod, is a 1,660-metre long cave complex located between Pai and Mae Hong Son, near the village of Pang Mapha. This archaeological site is maintained by the local Shan community. The walls are impressive, with columns up to 20 meters high, as well as stalactites and stalagmites. Bamboo rafts allow you to navigate on the fresh water stream that runs through the middle of the cave. At the end of the afternoon you can admire the flight of thousands of bats coming out of the caves...
