WAT PHRA THAT CHO HAE
Temple housing a 33 m high chedi located on a small hill in Phrae, the city's most important sacred site
This temple on a small hill is one of the city's most important places of Buddhist worship. Built in the Sukhothai period, it houses a 33-metre-high golden chedi. The temple owes its name to the silk with which the relics of Buddha's hair contained in the chedi are wrapped. Devotees also wrap the chedi in silk during the temple's annual festival. It houses a Buddha statue reminiscent of the Phra Phuttha Chinnarat statue at Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat in Phitsanulok.
