WAT HUAY PLA KANG
A complex housing a white temple, a large pagoda and an imposing white statue of Guanyin, the goddess of mercy.
Now a must-see destination, this recent complex houses a small white temple and a large 9-storey pagoda. Overlooking the valley, an imposing white statue of Guanyin, the goddess of mercy, attracts visitors' attention. It's possible to climb to the 25th floor of the statue for a few baht, to admire the view of the mountains from Guanyin's eyes and third eye. The temple was built by a monk to help local children, and over 540 orphans are cared for here.
