WAT PHRA THAT KLANG NAM (WAT PHRATHAT LANONG)
A sunken temple in the middle of the Mekong whose chedi only appears in the dry season, when the river's waters recede.
Quite unique in its kind, this temple has the distinction of being located in the middle of the Mekong. Its ruined Lao-style chedi, which seems to resist valiantly to the violence of the waves, is most of the time swallowed up by the river and is only visible during the dry season. In fact, when it was built in 1847, the riverbed was much narrower in this area, and the building was on the bank! It stands opposite the great white chedi of the same name.
