SALA KEOKU
A temple unlike any other, located in Nong Khai, containing numerous sculptures of impressive dimensions...
It's a large park, the Thai equivalent of Vientiane's Buddha Park dating from 1958, housing impressive sculptures of religious figures. Built in 1978, it is the work of a mystic who taught an existentialist philosophy sprinkled with Buddhism and Hinduism. From an architectural point of view, the amalgamation of these two religions is explosive. There are over a hundred sculptures, some of impressive size. The mummified remains of the temple's founder lie beneath a glass cloche.
