WAT HIN MAK PENG
A stone temple on the banks of the Mekong, dedicated to Luang Pu Thuat and home to hard-line Buddhist monks.
This stone temple is located outside the city, on the banks of the Mekong River. The sanctuary of the pagoda is dedicated to Luang Pu Thuat, a 16th century Buddhist monk who is famous for his protective amulet. The temple is inhabited by "pure and hard" Buddhist monks: they feed only once a day (at dawn) and meditate or pray throughout the day, as religious tradition requires. You can nevertheless visit the place, but it will be necessary to respect the uses: no bare legs or arms in the enclosure of the complex..
