WAT SALAK PETCH
A famous and colorful Buddhist temple, containing numerous statues such as Tanthima, which represents a giant mythical bird.
It is the most famous and colourful Buddhist temple on the island of Koh Chang. It was built in honour of the visit of King Rama V more than a century ago. The entrance to the temple is guarded by Tanthima, the giant mythical bird with the body of the deity Garuda, and Sintu Puksee, a deity half bird half fish. There are several other colourful statues around the temple. If the temple alone is not worth the trip, it is an interesting attraction to visit on a rainy day or if you are on this side of the island.
