WAT MAHATHAT WORAWIHAN
Royal Buddhist temple in downtown Phetchaburi, built in the century, its 42-metre high white tower can be seen from afar
Don't miss this beautiful royal Buddhist temple in the city centre. Its construction dates back to the 13th century, a period corresponding to the Kingdom of Ayutthaya. It consists of 5 prangs, a viharn, an ubosot and several chedis. Its particularity is its largest white tower of 42 meters (prang), heritage of the city's Khmer past, and visible from afar. This temple has been rebuilt over the centuries, only few elements of the original remain. It is very lively, thanks in particular to the presence of traditional musicians and dancers
