In the small seaside resort called Puek Tian, in honour of Thailand's most famous poet of the 19th century, Phu Sunthon, several statues have been placed on the beach or in the sea. On the beach, the statue of the poet, a mermaid, a warrior on a dragon horse, and in the sea, a giant turtle, an ogress and her much smaller husband facing each other. The statue of the ogress is monumental and almost frightening. The beach of Puek Tian has nothing interesting on the other hand, moreover one cannot swim there.
