KUI BURI NATIONAL PARK
This park is the only place where sandalwood bunis can be harvested for the cremation of members of the royal family.
Established in 1999, this park is located to the south of Kaeng Krachan, around 85 km from Hua Hin, the nearest major city. Bordering the Tenasserim mountain range, which acts as a natural border with Myanmar, the park's special feature is the 99% probability of seeing wild elephants during a visit. It also boasts over 200,000 sandalwood trees. This is the only place in Thailand where sandalwood can be harvested for the cremation of members of the royal family.
