CHÂTEAU DE LA BARGE
This listed château lies at the heart of a rural setting.
Listed as a Historic Monument, it lies at the heart of a rural setting, close to a Roman road and a ford on the Dore river. Part of the original moat, still visible and filled with water, has been preserved. The four towers have retained their original roofs. Terraces decorated with balustrades cover three sides of the second floor, supported by a Renaissance colonnade. They lead to a chapel lit by a series of remarkable 16th- and 17th-century stained-glass windows. Visit the château from the outside only.
