SUAN KHWAN MUEANG PARK
A large public park to the south-west of Yala, hosting a spectacular dove-song competition every year.
This large public park in the south-west of the city (about 3 km from the train station) is the scene of a spectacular dove singing competition that takes place every year in March, on the occasion of the ASEAN Doves Festival. Hundreds of caged birds, symbol of purity and peace but also bearers of good luck for their owners, are put in competition for the quality of their singing: experts assign a rating for each animal. This type of competition can be found in Malaysia and Indonesia. Possibility of canoeing.
