SAINT-WENDELIN CHAPEL

Saint-Wendelin chapel, surrounded by a disused cemetery and a few steles, including one by Abbé Weisrock
Construction of this chapel began in 1435. It is dedicated to Saint Wendelin, who, according to legend, gave up the privileges of being the son of a Scottish king to become a shepherd. A cemetery, disused since 1859, surrounds the church, and the few remaining stelae give the place a very special atmosphere. Particularly noteworthy are the stele of Abbé Weisrock, a refractory priest who died in 1812, and one in which a cherub holding a ciborium has taken the place usually occupied by Saint John.
