QINGSHAN TEMPLE
Built in the 1850s, this temple is dedicated to King Qingshan, who dispenses justice and heals poisoned people. Legend has it that an icon of the king was transported from mainland China. Once in Taipei, the icon was suddenly impossible to move; after consulting the oracles, it was decided that the icon wished to remain there. So a temple was built on this site. On the 22nd day of the 10th month of the lunar calendar, a religious festival pays homage to King Qingshan, and the neighborhood has a beautiful festival.
