An integral part of old Taipei, people have been coming here to buy tea or medicinal plants since 1738. On 500 m, this small alley which skirts the temple of Longshan carries several nicknames like Dihua Street or Cing Cao Lane. According to legend, Chinese doctors were rare on the island in the 18th century. To make up for this lack, the inhabitants had to be inventive: they managed to create medicines with plants from Taiwan. That's how this deal came about.
