The largest market in southern Taipei, Gongguan lies within the perimeter of Taiwan University and Taiwan Tech University. As a result, it's a popular place for students to meet up in the evenings before heading back to campus. Bookshops, clothes stores, cafés and snacks abound in the alleyway leading to the South-East Theater. Prices are very competitive, and the market has preserved its authenticity.
