RED CASTLE 1899

In a superb setting, this restaurant is considered one of the best addresses in Tamsui. The original building dates back to the end of the 19th century, when the city was still home to the largest port in the archipelago. Built on a Victorian architectural model, the "Red Fort" suffered extensive damage after flooding and fire. Renovated identically in 2000, it now welcomes a renowned Chinese chef, who concocts a new menu every year, featuring the great classics of southern Chinese gastronomy.
