JUMING MUSEUM
It's a mountain covered with green carpet that you'll have to climb to reach the museum, watch out for the bends! The very prolific Ju Ming dreamed of exhibiting his work, outdoors, but not just anywhere! It is finally on this site between mountains and forests that the artist has set his sights. Twelve years of construction and development were necessary to create harmony between nature and art. The museum finally opened its doors in 1999. And the bet's on! More than 500 sculptures and 500 paintings occupy an area of 10 ha, divided between covered galleries and gardens. The outdoor exhibition is divided into ten independent parts, including the famous Taichi Square (Ju is passionate about this martial art) and Living World Square (scenes from the lives of Mr. and Mrs. Everyman), as well as Arts corridor, an open-air corridor covered with frescoes that the sculptor leaves at the disposal of young artists. In summer, concerts and sound and light shows are organized within the park. The main building contains other collections of the master, including works by masters he collected: Pablo Picasso, Henri Moore, Andy Warhol... that's the overseas collection. It will take half a day for an exhaustive visit as this museum is rich in works of art, but also thanks to the peaceful atmosphere that reigns there. Strolling through this fairy-tale garden amply justifies the trip.
