During the Sino-French war of 1883 to 1885, 500 French sailors perished in Keelung, and were buried in the town itself. Today, the bodies have been repatriated to France, with the exception of two officers who remain in the Taiwanese city. It's not a place of great interest, not least because of the port facilities, but a patriotic impulse may well tickle your fancy... The small wall surrounding it was repainted a few years ago in blue-white-red, recalling the historic links between France and Taiwan.
