The village of Puli is home to one of the region's largest distilleries, which produces a rice wine called Shaohsin, originally from mainland China's Zhejiang province. It's a fairly strong wine, mainly used for cooking, but also goes well with dried fruit preparations. The factory offers tastings and a tour, which, although rather uninteresting, provides an insight into the production process. Not to be missed: Shaohsin sausages, a tasty specialty not to be missed.
